Messiah Complex is a metal band from Cape Town, South Africa, formed in early 2010.

In 2011 a rhythm guitarist (Chris de Villiers) and drummer (Garth Wiese) were recruited into the band, in order to become gig ready. Three months later Messiah Complex played their first show, FRESH BLOOD at R.O.A.R in Observatory with Infanteria, Imperium of Man and Sindulgence.

May 2011 the band head into studio with Kyle Puller from Dualine Records to record a demo track, “The Fall”. After the release of the demo that band began to play shows all over Cape Town. Towards the end of 2011 the band took a break for two months in preparation for Rock The River 2011.

Early January 2012 the band head back in studio and started working on their EP. Shortly after that they emerged with a 4 track EP and intro. The EP was released early April 2012.

Mid 2012 the band had to say goodbye to Chris de Villiers and shortly after that Andrew Lambert took up the role of rhythm.

The band gains great influence from the likes of Whitechapel and Meshuggah. With a core foundation, the band is influenced with Deathcore, Groove and Mathcore tastes.
